This is a quick video of a studio, beat making session. This beat took about 30 minutes to build. The beat has a bit of a Dr. Dre sound but then gets a bit more Just Blaze with the Tom Fills. When I sit down in a session and start working on beats I spend alot of time looking for the right sound. I might get an idea for a string part and try the same part with 20 differnt string sounds before i find the just the right one. One of the big mistakes I think new producers make is not getting to know there sound library and their plugins. Some very big records have come from the Garage Band factory sound library.
